All of the
main structural components of the standard frame, and the
"SpreadFire" pivot decks, are fabricated out of
rectangular tubing or C-channel for superior strength.
All of my trailers utilize dual torsion-type axles and
have optional 8,000 lb. (or larger) jacks on each corner, which are used
to provide stability. Leaf spring type axles are an
option, but I do not recommend them for a number of reasons.
Exceptional
Strength and Safety are built in.
The pivot
decks (on the SpreadFire units) have a minimum of three
3/4" x 12" long steel hinges, each of which
have grease fittings. The
pivot decks are permanently attached to the main frame by
means of these hinges, which are welded to the frame.
Innovation
and Reliability is the norm at StarFire Trailer Systems.
On most of my
ball hitch units, I use a three-tube tongue assembly for
extra strength. I
can also provide Gooseneck or 5th wheel-type units on the
larger trailers. My Standard Deck material consists of two layers of
3/4" premium plywood fastened to cross-members which are
on 12" or 16" centers.
The Standard Deck has a top layer of specially treated
fire-rated plywood, and the bottom layer can be fire-rated or
"Ply-Deck", which is a Premium Quality, water-resistant
plywood used in the manufacture of Pontoon boats, and has a 25 year warranty.
For
superior strength, all of our trailers have full
inner-perimeter support on the inside of the frame, used for attaching whatever deck
material you choose. If plywood, the top deck is painted
(except for aluminum deck plate), and the bottom of the lower
wood layer is treated with premium water-proofing. The
top is also caulked around the entire perimeter with high-flex or pure Silicone caulking. This
prevents water from getting between the frame and deck to
reduce the possibility of rust and, if plywood, prevents water
from causing delamination.
