All of the main structural components of our standard frame, and the "SpreadFire" pivot decks, are fabricated out of rectangular tubing for superior strength and rigidity.  All of our trailers utilize dual torsion-type axles and have 8,000 lb (or larger) jacks on each corner, which are used to provide even more stability and can be used to tilt the trailer for use when you need to shoot over a body of water.  They also serve to reduce the shock to the axle components when firing larger shells in multiples.

Exceptional Strength and Safety are built in.

The pivot decks (on the SpreadFire units) have a minimum or three 3/4" x 12" long steel hinges, each of which have grease fittings.  The pivoting decks are permanently attached to the main frame by means of these hinges, which are welded to the frame and decks using line-bore fixtures for accurate placement.  This assures that each deck pivots freely.  As an option you can order your "SpreadFire" trailer so the pivot decks are removable.

Innovation and Reliability is the norm at StarFire Trailer Systems.

On ball hitch units, we use a three-tube tongue assembly for rigidity and strength.  We can also provide Gooseneck-type units on the larger trailers, if preferred.  Our standard deck material consists of two layers of 3/4" premium plywood fastened to cross-members on 12" or 16" centers.  The bottom pieces are Ply-Dek material, which is a specially treated, rot-resistant plywood used on most all high-end pontoon boats.  The top layer is specially treated fire-rated plywood.  No matter what type of decking you prefer, all of our trailers have full inner-perimeter supports used for attaching the deck material.

We can also use treated 1½ inch Pine or Maple hardwood plank decking at your request, and the top layer can be either type of the 3/4 inch plywood types mentioned, depending on your preference.  Please note that ALL of our decks are covered with at least one layer of 3/4 inch plywood.  We have found, through experience, that this provides both a stiffer deck, and helps spread the load when firing large caliber shells.

Another standard-but-optional feature of our trailers are full-length, fold-up walkways on the sides.  These are used to provide easy access and safety while you load and/or wire the shells, and also while checking the guns after the show.
